LEXTER(6) Player's Guide LEXTER(6) NAME lexter - a curses falling letters puzzle game SYNOPSIS lexter [ -v | -h | -s | -d dictionary ] DESCRIPTION Lexter is a real-time word puzzle. Arrange the falling letters into words to score points. Words can be formed in any direction except di- agonal. Palindromes are counted twice (forwards and backwards). Lexter supports multiple dictionaries. Letter scores and frequencies will vary with each dictionary. In addition to the characters found in the dic- tionary there is a "blank" character. Anytime before the character has landed you can press a key to assign it a valid letter. OPTIONS -v Show version and exit -h Show help and exit -s Show score file and exit -d dictionary Use a different dictionary. The default is the local language code. IN GAME Left/Right/Down Move letter Spacebar Drop letter P Pause game. This blanks the pit while paused. H Show help. L Show letter scores and probabilities. W Show words found. S Saves a screenshot in the current directory. Q Quit game. FILES /var/games/lexter.scores /usr/local/share/lexter/dict.* BUGS The game probably needs more play testing.
