OVERVIEW(8) System Manager's Manual OVERVIEW(8) NAME overview - update the NOV database. SYNOPSIS overview [ -r ] DESCRIPTION Overview updates the NOV database that is kept in .overview files in the directories of the news spool. It reads the active file and up- dates the .overview file for each group in turn. By default existing NOV entries are reused where appropriate but if the -r option is given they are discarded and all the entries are made from the article files.
