Use this function to set multi_sample_count in a bl_vcf_t object from non-member functions. This function performs a direct assignment for scalar or pointer structure members. If multi_sample_count is a pointer, data previ- ously pointed to should be freed before calling this function to avoid mem- ory leaks.
