EXPIRE(8) System Manager's Manual EXPIRE(8) NAME expire - delete old articles from the new spool. SYNOPSIS expire DESCRIPTION Expire goes through all the articles indexed in the history file and if they are older than the number of days specified in the first matching line of the expire configuration file it deletes all know links to it in the news spool. For cross posted articles that have more than on link to them in the news spool the other links are worked out from the Xref header line in the article.
