JMAKEWHATIS.LOCAL(8) System Manager's Manual JMAKEWHATIS.LOCAL(8)

NAME
       jmakewhatis.local, jcatman.local -- start jmakewhatis or jcatman.local
       for local file systems

SYNOPSIS
       /usr/local/libexec/jmakewhatis.local [options] directories ...
       /usr/local/libexec/jcatman.local	[options] directories ...

DESCRIPTION
jmakewhatis.local start jmakewhatis(1) only for file systems physically
mounted on the system where the jmakewhatis.local is being executed.
Running jmakewhatis by periodic weekly for rw nfs-mounted /usr may kill
your NFS server	-- all NFS clients start jmakewhatis at	the same time!
So use this wrapper for cron(8)	instead of calling jmakewhatis di-
rectly. jcatman.local is using	for same purposes as jmakewhatis.local
       but for jcatman(1).
